Smid Photo Tours was established by award winning Czech photographer Jan Smid, QEP (Qualified European Photographer) who has been one of the pioneers in landscape panoramic photography. In 2012, he started to lecture various workshops using modern photography methods like exposure bracketing, “antireflex”, focus bracketing or parallactic mount. In 2014, he extended the range of workshops and expeditions, and started bringing people to the most attractive locations while imparting a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Jan has been dedicated to landscape photography since 2009 and he quickly became one of the leading Czech landscape photographers. He specializes in sophisticated and technically demanding panoramic photos. He held numerous exhibitions and was awarded with silver medal from Tokyo, two silver medals from Paris, two gold medals and one silver medal from Moscow. He contributes on a regular basis to talk-shows focusing on photography on TV NOVA.
Recently, Jan was awarded the title of Qualified European Photographer (QEP), which is the most prestigious photographic certificate granted by the Federation of European Photographers. In 2017 Jan succeeded as the only landscape photographer from all over Europe.
He brings together experienced tutors who provide in-depth knowledge and personal approach to lift up skills of our participants.

Jakub is an experienced photographer starting to dedicate his time to professional photography since 2008. He has a unique knowledge of the best shooting locations, that comes along with very sophisticated post-editing processing. It is reflected in the quality of his work that was appreciated by National Geographic as well as the prestigious photo server 1x.com. He has been joining Jan’s workshops for many years and became a recognized expert in Czech landscape photography. Moreover, he is excited to share his in-depth knowledge, along with his professional passion, with other peers.
Besides Europe, Jaroslav travelled to more than 20 countries and he is fluent in English, Spanish, French and German. During his travels, he visited the most hilarious places and started to learn about photography. He has got a great eye for composition, and took selfie shooting to the next level. He learned all the tips & tricks to capture amazing images using various types of perspective photography. Jaroslav ensures smooth bilingual communication as requested by our participants.
Jiri Beran is an architect who began to photograph in 2008 as a photographer of evening events, music concerts and fireworks. At leisure, he enjoys traveller’s and landscape photography. Over time, he discovered the charm of photo of architecture that is closest to him and he specializes in it. Thanks to his work’s experience as an architect and its unique „architectural“ view is sought-after as a photographer of architecture, interiors and exteriors for architects, designers, developers and real estate companies as well. Since 2011 he professionally photographs architecture and is known for its perfectionist approach and precise photo processing. Do you want a photos of architecture? Who else should photograph them than an architect with a feeling of excellent composition. An experienced photographer with main focus on landscape and nature photography. Growing up in picturesque countryside, Jan appreciates nature and its beauty. He started his photography journey in 2012 and since then has dedicated most of his free time to this passion. Combining his love of traveling and photography, he strives to provide and share the best possible visual experience. Besides numerous photo competition awards, his work is also very successful on several photo servers, including 1x.com and 500px.com. Jan also likes to explore other photography genres, such as macro, wildlife, still life, etc.
